Caithness Shepherds Flat Wind Farms are enhancing the communities of Gilliam and Morrow Counties.

Recognizing that rural wind farm investments have the power to generate not just clean energy but also full time jobs, the Caithness Shepherds Flat Wind Farms support Columbia Gorge Community College’s (CGCC) Renewable Energy Technology program – the first wind technician training program on the West Coast.

CGCC is based in The Dalles, Oregon, and with a 10-year, $250,000 financial commitment from the Wind Farms, CGCC will provide scholarships to students – with a focus on returning veterans – aiming to become the next generation of wind energy workers.

“I have been given an amazing opportunity…Without this scholarship, I may have had to delay my education and my family’s future. I am truly honored and grateful. Thank you.”
Geof Blanchard, second year Renewable Energy and Technology student

The Caithness Shepherds Flat Winds Farms are also proud to support a number of charities and programs in the region, including Gillam and Morrow County Fairs, Columbia Basin High School, Ione Education Foundation, and Arlington Community Charter School.
